Bulkhead repair at Port of West St. Mary includes SPiRe®, FRP rebar
Commercial seawall repair project included SPiRe® FRP panels covering the splash zone, FRP rebar for increased structural strengthening and driven timber piles for additional protection of the new improved structure.
Over 500 timber piles restored while dock remains in service
PileMedic® repairs and strengthens timber piles near catastrophic failure at the largest agricultural port in the U.S. Some of the piles had 100% section loss! Concrete dock remained in service while repairs of 550 piles were completed.
Sheet pile bulkhead repaired for U.S. Coast Guard
The patented SPiRe® FRP panel system was selected for this project as a long-term repair solution to prevent the corrosion of a commercial-level steel sheet pile bulkhead.
Driven concrete piles with limited space are repaired at Port of Seattle
The Port of Seattle specified PileMedic® to design and retrofit octagonal prestressed concrete piles. Both axial and flexural capacities of the piles were enhanced with limited service interruption to the busy T-18 terminal.
Sheet pile seawall repaired with custom SPiRe® panels
The patented SPiRe® FRP panel system designed and sealed by QuakeWrap® engineers can be customized to match the geometry of existing seawall. This mockup at Bellingham Marine’s facilities shows the crew practicing in preparation for field installation.
PileMedic strengthening cell phone towers nationwide
Some 200 cell phone towers have been strengthened throughout the U.S. using the patented PileMedic® system to accomodate heavier equipment. Flexural capacity of these monopole structures has been enhanced by more than 250% in many cases.
PileMedic® repairs timber truss bridge, St Louis, MO
The river environment and the dry-wet cycles had resulted in damage to the piles of a truss bridge at the Valvoline river dock. A total of 18 timber piles on this project were encapsulated from a height of 5’ below grade to the pile cap in PileMedic®. Low viscosity resin was injected into the annular space between the pile and the jacket to fill all the voids in the timber pile and make up for the loss in compressive strength.
Corrosion-damaged steel columns, Tucson, AZ
Replacement of severely corroded steel columns in this electrical substation was impossible without temporary shutdown of the substation. PileMedic® was used to restore the strength of 31 columns in 5 working days without disrupting the electrical grid.
